About Us
MyPalkkalaskuri.com is a free web service aimed at Finns and people working in Finland, helping employees, employers, and entrepreneurs understand their salary and the statutory contributions related to it. We offer seven different salary calculators with one reliable calculation principle – using the official 2026 tax data.
What is MyPalkkalaskuri.com?
MyPalkkalaskuri.com is a free and openly available web service that lets you calculate your net salary, an hourly wage's monthly equivalent, employer's side costs, YEL pension contribution, or a light entrepreneur's take-home income in a matter of seconds. Our calculators are based on the tax and insurance contribution rates in force in 2026, and they are updated whenever legislation or municipal tax rates change.
We don't require registration, identification, or user account creation. You can use all calculators immediately without any commitment or payment.
Why Did We Build This Service?
Understanding the Finnish payroll system isn't easy – many different contributions leave the gross salary, and the outcome varies with several variables (municipality, age, church membership, TES, employment contract type). A €3,500 gross salary mentioned in a job interview could just as easily mean €2,400 or €2,600 net per month. The difference is significant, but few can calculate it in their head.
- Completely free – no hidden costs, no "premium" version.
- No registration – use immediately without a user account.
- Accurate – up-to-date 2026 taxes and insurance contributions.
- Private – we don't store your salary data anywhere, all calculations happen in your browser.
- Works on all devices – responsive interface for phone, tablet, and desktop.
- Fast – results immediately, no loading times or access barriers.
- Multilingual – the service is available in Finnish, English, German, Spanish, and Chinese.

Payroll System Changes – Why Check the Calculator Annually
Finland's payroll system changes constantly. The Tax Administration updates the state income tax scales annually, municipalities decide on the following year's tax rates in autumn, and pension companies agree on TyEL percentages with labour market organisations. Significant changes have occurred between 2020 and 2025:
- The employee's TyEL share has fallen from 7.65% to 7.15%.
- Unemployment insurance has fallen significantly from 1.5% to 0.89%.
- The health insurance total share has grown from 1.53% to 1.90% (daily allowance contribution returned in 2023).
- Municipal tax percentages changed radically in the social welfare reform of 2023 – all municipalities cut their percentages by about 12.5 percentage points.
- The YEL work income lower limit rose from €8,261 to over €9,400 in 2024, and continues to rise with the index.
These changes mean that net salaries calculated with old data are easily hundreds of euros off. MyPalkkalaskuri.com automatically updates data annually, so you can trust that you always get a current estimate.

Liability and Disclaimer
MyPalkkalaskuri.com is intended as an advisory tool. The calculator's results are estimates based on 2026 tax and insurance contribution rates, and are based on the best available information. However, we don't guarantee complete accuracy of the calculation in all individual situations, because wage income can be affected by several personal factors that the calculator doesn't ask about: mortgage interest, commuting costs, child deductions, union fees, and other deductions. A more accurate estimate can be obtained from the Tax Administration's OmaVero service via your personal tax card. See also our terms of service.
